The 4th Tony Makjavich Memorial golf tournament was held at Sunol Valley Golf Course for the second year. It was said that Tony must have negotiated with the weather gods to get the beautiful day we got. Three teams tied with a magnificent -15, but only one team could be crowned champion. The three foursomes consisted of:

The tie breaker is based on the lowest score on the #1 handcapped hole. Ties move to the 2nd toughest hole on the course and so on. Last years team of Mountain View boys got beat out by the Palo Alto boys. I see a competition forming!

The banquet followed at 6:30 and was followed by the usual raffle. There were three full sets of clubs and three top of the line drivers donated by Kevin Moore. The drivers were made by Ping, Taylor Made, and Cleveland. Retail on the clubs is about $450 each. Ticket sales were great and the Oaks baseball team will benefit from everyones generosity. Some of the winners, Brian Nakamoto got the Ping driver, Gabe Duran won a two night stay in Tahoe. Frankie Garcia won the RAM set of clubs while Don Landwirth and one of the Blach brothers won the other two sets.

Two awards were given out. The Tony Mak Award was given to Chris Budelli for his hustle and superb outfield play. The MVP award was given to Jason Kleinhoffer for his undefeated season and TWO no hitters! Well done guys.

• Joani Lamica from Downey Savings in Mountain View. Joani has sponsored the tournament for three years. Joani provides the gift bags and is the friendly face on the second hole with the cold water. I ask that you consider sending some business Joani's way. Mention the Oaks and she'll continue to sponsor this tournament for years to come!
• Sandy Wihtol for four years of sponsoring a hole. Sandy sales real estate...did you know that if you send someone Sandy's way (mention the Oaks) and he sells a property, he'll donate 20% of his commission to the Oaks!
• Danny Duran, Todd Ayers, and the Campbell family have sponsored the Oaks all four years.
• Frank Garcia made the trip all the way from Texas. Charlie Clark came up from LA. Clyde Stevenson from Oakdale, and Manual Olmos from Modesto.
• Bob Budelli for arranging the hole in one car on the 2nd hole, and other raffle prizes.
• Al Talboy and Kevin Ford for signficant financial support over the year.
